Lakewood’s Board of Fire Commissioners last night authorized leasing their old office building and shed at 316 River Avenue to CJ Hatzolah.
Fire District Administrator and Public Information Officer Yehuda Beer told LNN that the lease is for a period of 24 months and the facilities are being given for “nominal consideration”.
CJ Hatzolah will use the office building and shed to expand their dispatch and administrative offices as well as provide an additional, centralized location for their night watch (members who stay in-house all night to be ready instantly). Currently, these offices are housed only at the Heathwood garage.
The Board of Fire Commissioners also authorized the Lakewood Squadron of Civil Air Patrol (CAP) to use their meeting room at their Cedar Bridge Avenue building.
Jason (Yaakov) Cohen, the Lakewood Composite Squadron Commander, told LNN that CAP will use the fire district meeting room to hold their meetings for the next month or so while they renovate their mission base at the Lakewood Airport.
