REPORT: Housing real estate market in Lakewood among the hottest in the state

Jul 16, 2021 772 0 0

Houses are flying off the market across the state thanks to low inventory and low interest rates.

Statewide, year-to-date, the average number of days between when a house is listed and an offer is accepted is 43. Thatโ€™s down 37% from 68 days for the same time period last year, according to data from New Jersey Realtors.

But there are places throughout the state where homes are selling way faster than that.

According to a NJ Advance Media report based on data from Redfin, which identifies census-designated areas to find the top 25 places throughout the state where houses are selling the fastest, Leisure Village East in Lakewood ranked third.

In the months of March, April and May, homes listed for sale in Leisure Village East in Lakewood remained listed for 10.3 days before getting sold.

On the list of 25 locations with the hottest real estate market, Camden and Ocean counties have the most places on the list, with five. Monmouth and Gloucester counties each have four on the list.

Agents say this is a continued migration of people moving from North Jersey and New York City seeking more space.

Here are the 25 places in New Jersey where houses are selling the fastest and the number of days they spent on the market, which was computed by using the average number of days a home was listed from March, April and May, according to Redfin data.
