Just a few days ago we reached out to Phil Roux, Director of Lakewood Public Works, after a follower asked for some safety upgrades to the Twin Oaks / Kew Gardens intersection.
The job is now done and it’s looking sharp!
Public Works crews replaced the faded “Stop Sign Ahead” sign on Twin Oaks Drive southbound with a new sign. They painted stop bars on Twin Oaks and Kew Gardens. They installed new Brite sticks on the stop signs and stop ahead signs, and they restriped the turning lanes.
With all these upgrades, visibility at the intersection, which is shared with traffic to and from the adjacent shopping center will be improved for all drivers, increasing safety for drivers and pedestrians, especially at night and in inclement weather.
