A Lakewood shuttle heading from Brooklyn to Lakewood broke down in the middle of the Garden State Parkway express lanes at approximately 11:00 pm last night, LNN has learned.
The bus engine wasn’t starting and the bus was getting really hot and was pitch dark a passenger told LNN.
The passengers on the bus were told that it would take at least an hour to get a replacement bus to take them to Lakewood which was still about 45 minutes away.
Luckily an NJ Transit bus with an extremely nice driver pulled over and offered to take all the passengers on his bus to the Brick Township Park & Ride bus stop.
The passengers all transferred onto his bus while a New Jersey state trooper was blocking traffic.
The bus shuttle company set up for a new bus to await the passengers at the Park & Ride and to continue with its regular stops.
