The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for the area from Wednesday morning 8:00 am through Thursday morning 11:00 am, as remnants of hurricane Ida is expected to pass through the region early Thursday morning.
Periods of heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms are expected to result in widespread 2 to 4 inches of rain with locally higher amounts by Thursday morning. Combined with wet conditions this may lead to instances of flash flooding.
Flooding of creeks, streams, urban areas, and poor drainage areas is possible. Water is likely to cover the roads especially in low-lying areas. Roads and structures near rivers may be flooded.
