Chai Lifeline Donates Backpacks to Children of Active Troops engaged in welcoming Afghan refugees to Joint Base MDL

Oct 4, 2021 379 0 1

Moshe Goldstein, Chaplain in the USAFR who works at Chai Lifeline, and Aharon Koslowitz, director of Community Services, Chai Lifeline NJ, recently coordinated a donation and drop off of more than 100 backpacks for children, donated by Barry and Donny Eber to the Airmen’s Attic at Joint Base MDL, to support the children of our troops engaged in Operation Allies Welcome.

Operation Allies Welcome is the operation of bringing in the thousands of Afghan refugees to the United States and to New Jersey.

Chai Lifeline is an international children’s health support network, providing social, emotional, and financial assistance to children with life-threatening and lifelong illnesses and their families with year-round programs and services. For many years, Goldstein was a family liaison, visiting Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Since its beginning in 1999, the New Jersey/Pennsylvania region of Chai Lifeline has grown into one of the largest regions nationally, supporting more than 950 families impacted by pediatric illness. As the communities it serves rapidly grow, Chai Lifeline NJ/PA continues to expand and adapt its hospital and home-based services for families 24-hours a day, 7 days a week during their times of illness and crisis.

After 20 years, Chai Lifeline moved its headquarters from Clifton Avenue, to 5 Airport Road, Lakewood, NJ.
