RIP: Sudden passing of Lakewood Police Captain Joe Goertz

The Lakewood Police Department today announced the sudden passing of Captain Joe Goertz #251.

Captain Goertz was a 20 year veteran of the police department, and was serving as Administration Captain.

Captain Goertz suddenly fell ill last week and passed away at home this morning. He leaves behind 4 children and his wife Elena.

The Captain was publicly seen just over a week ago when Jack Ciatierelli visited Lakewood and Captain Goertz warmly greeted Jack.

Funeral arrangements notifications will follow.
