This morning, multiple homeowners have reported attempted break-ins in the Coventry Square section of Lakewood.
Homeowners, primarily on Downing Street, woke up to find their windows broken and tampered with as well as gates and screen doors left wide open.
“Unfortunately, this is nothing new to the neighborhood as, over the past few months, incidents like this have been happening too often”, a Coventry resident told LNN. “Although the burglaries were ultimately unsuccessful and nothing has been reported stolen, this incident should not be taken lightly.”
Police were quick to respond to the reports this morning but homeowners tell LNN they feel that not enough is being done to prevent these incidents from happening.
“This needs to be taken very seriously and police patrol needs to be amped up. It seems like every day we’re hearing of another home break in or car break in. The criminals need to know that we are not just sitting ducks for them to rob”, a victim of the incident told LNN.
Lakewood Police and Shomrim are actively investigating the incidents.
