It is with with great sadness that LNN reports the tragic passing of a 9-year-old Lakewood girl who unfortunately passed away after an accident this morning in Toms River.
The single vehicle accident happened on North Bay Avenue and Whitty Road shortly after 9:00 AM when the vehicle reportedly slipped off the road and hit a tree.
The young girl suffered a traumatic arrest on the scene and was transported by Toms River EMS to the hospital where doctors tried everything to save her life but were unfortunately unsuccessful.

UPDATE: The girl was identified as Leah Gross A”H, of Lakewood, daughter of R’ Levi Yitzchok and Mrs. Baila Gross. The family lives in Westgate. R’ Levi Yitzchok Gross is a dedicated member of the Lakewood Shomrim volunteer organization.
UPDATE: The Levaya will begin tentatively 5:00 PM at the Lutzk Shul, 520 New Egypt Road, followed by a Levaya at the Belz Shtibel, 44 Grove Springs Court, and will continue to Kevurah in Lakewood. Besuros Tovos.
UPDATE: The family of Leah Gross A”H will be sitting Shiva at 71 North Crest Place in Westgate. Shachris 9:00 AM, Mincha/Maariv 4:30 PM. The family will be getting up on Tuesday morning.
