On Monday, May 23, Misameach, the organization that brings smiles to hundreds of suffering families, had its long awaited groundbreaking ceremony. The event, sponsored by AmeriGroup, had a nice showing of New Jersey State and Lakewood Township officials as well as the surrounding townships.
The event was attended by State Assemblyman Ned Thompson, Mayor Ray Coles of Lakewood, Mayor Ducey of Brick, Mayor Hill of Toms River and Mayor Reina of Jackson. We were also honored with the presence of Ocean County Commissioner, Ginny Haines, Lakewood Police Captain Steve Allier, Deputy Mayor Menashe Miller and Lakewood Committeemen Meir Lichtenstein Committeemen Issac Ackerman. Harold Hensel and other township representatives joined along with representatives from Amerigroup and Bikur Cholim.
Moe Rabi, Master of ceremonies, shared his personal experience as a misameach volunteer . State Senator Thompson presented a resolution from the State of New Jersey signed by the President and Assembly Speaker. Mayor Ray Coles spoke about his involvement in obtaining the property for Misameach from when he was approached 6 years ago. Then it was just an idea and now it’s actually coming to fruition!
Much appreciation to the people who helped obtain this property – Mayor Ray Coles, Chaplain Burstyn, Chaplain Wenger and Naftuli Eisen Moishe Klien ESQ. Much thanks for all the time and expertise that was put into the layout and design of the new Center – BF Design for the amazing architectural work, Margalit Lankry for the beautiful interior design and Platinum Developers and Builders for all your help and skill.
