Update: Mega Millions jackpot jumps to $630M after no one wins, next drawing is Friday night.
Brisk final-day lottery ticket sales have bumped the jackpot for Tuesday night’s Mega Millions drawing to an estimated $555 million.
The drawing will be held at 10:59 p.m.
If someone wins the top prize, the cash option will be worth a minimum of $316.9 million. The jackpot is also potentially the fifth biggest Mega Millions jackpot and 16th largest in U.S. lottery history.
No one has hit the Mega Millions jackpot since someone in Tennessee won a $20 million prize on April 15. Since then 26 drawings have been held without a grand prize winner.
Friday’s winning numbers were 8, 20, 26, 53 and 64. The Mega Ball drawn was 15 with a Megaplier of 5X.
In New Jersey, a third-prize, $10,000 ticket was sold at Wawa on Greentree Road in the Sewell section of Mantua, lottery officials said. It matched four numbers plus the Mega Ball.
The odds of a $2 ticket matching all the winning numbers are 302,575,350 to 1. Players have a 1 in 12,607,306 chance of a ticket matching five numbers but not the Mega Ball and winning at least $1 million.
Mega Millions drawings are held on Tuesday and Friday in 45 states, along with Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
