A large hole on a public easement in a school yard has been left unaddressed for months, and now- someone has been hurt.
A large drain in the yard of Yeshivas Ohr Avraham Chaim, on New Central Avenue, has long been uncovered, leaving a hole at least six feet deep, and approximately 4 feet wide. School and neighborhood representatives called the police to address the issue several times over a number of months, but the hole remained a hazard.
Police initially placed a street sign over the hole, and later, a thin false cover.
Today, a truck drove over the hole, shattering the cover and leaving it exposed again. Shortly thereafter, someone fell into the hole and was badly hurt.
LNN has reached out to township officials for assistance.
