A fire set outside the home of a Lakewood reporter had been intentionally set, fire officials have determined.
Brush in the backyard of Shlomo Schorr, a Lakewood resident who write for the Lakewood Shopper and New York Times, burned in a peculiar circular fire last week. Lakewood Fire Chief Jon Yahr said it appears to have been intentional.
“Fire Department suspects this was intentionally set. Thanks to their swift response, this was knocked down in minutes with no injuries,” Schorr tweeted.
The Ocean County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating. At this time, it is not known whether or not the fire was intended to get Schorr’s attention or was a mere coincidence.
