Eighteen people were injured, and one killed, rachmana litzlan, when two bombs were remotely detonated at bus stops in Yerushalayim yesterday.
Injured in the attack was Naomi Pilichowski, 18, who moved to Israel recently from Fair Lawn, New Jersey, with her parents. Her father, Rabbi Uri Pilichowski, served as the Assistant Rabbi of the famed Beth Jacob Congregation in Los Angeles, and as rabbi of the Boca Raton Synagogue before moving to Israel, where he continues to teach and work on kiruv projects.
New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy confirmed in a tweet that the Pilichowski was among the injured as he condemned the bombings. “”I am disgusted by the bombings in Jerusalem that took the life of a teenager and wounded at least 18 others, including the daughter of New Jersey native Rabbi Uri Pilichowski,” Murphy wrote. “I pray for the victims and stand firmly with our friends in Israel against terrorism.”
