Yesterday, January 30, U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5), visited Temple Ner Tamid in Bloomfield following this past weekend’s early morning Molotov cocktail firebomb attack. On January 31st at 6:30 p.m. Governor Murphy, Attorney General Platkin, and Asaf Zamir, Consul General of Israel in New York, visited the site as well.
Authorities, from local law enforcement and up to the FBI and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, are still searching for the suspect.
According to security video footage, the masked suspect approached the front door of the Temple at 3:19 a.m. and threw a lit Molotov cocktail at the building. The bottle broke but did not cause any further damage.
