Hiring is challenging across the country these days. It seems like there are more jobs than applicants. Indeed, Lakewood Township is feeling the heat in many ways and within various departments along with the rest of us. LNN inquired as to the LPD’s recent posting of crossing guard positions available. According to Traffic and Safety Director, Sgt. Frank Work, Lakewood needs approximately 18 guards to be properly staffed, perhaps even a little more. We have 8 now. Many left in recent years either due to retirement or for other positions.

Interested parties may apply here. The township pays $20 an hour for the work which can be done either full or part time.
